 Bar code reader for your Cellular Phone
One of the first things a buyer of transportation software
wants to know is “does your product support bar codes”? Of course, that is a question that needs further investigation before it can be answered.
 The ASCAR product has been supporting bar code applications for a very long time, yet those capabilities were not of use to most of our clients, because before a
bar code can be read, it has to be created, and it has to have meaning.
Today we have completed a new capability that should
make bar code technology quite useful to you. I’m talking about the interface software that we created so that a cell phone equipped with the
Symbol PSM20i bar code reader can capture information printed by our web order ticket, and then forward the data to you, complete with time and location information.
More and more we find that your clients want detailed tracking of each
package, even while they may have given your driver 15 or 20 at one time, with each package going to its own destination.
Our mobile bar code capability, will even store and forward its data
reading together with any location information that temporarily couldn’t be sent because of lack of cell phone coverage.
Of course, the store and forward capability for the tracking product is
available to all of our Tracknology users right now.
